How should a hat fit?
Your hat should fit snug, not tight, and it should sit level across your forehead, with approximately an inch (2.5-cm) above your eyebrows and a finger width above your ears.
What size do I need?
Use this size chart to find your size. To measure, hold tape measure about a half inch (1.3cm) above your ear. Wrap tape measure around your head and across your forehead. If you are between hat sizes, order the next larger size.
Note: use the Split Sizing chart for straw hats.
What Hat will I look best In?
As a start we suggest that the crown of your hat is the same height (brim to top of crown) as your face (brim to bottom of chin) and the brim width be proportional to your face width.
People of average to large body types can wear 3 1/2" to 4" brims while smaller body types should consider wearing hats with brims of 3 " to 3 1/2". However, reshaping wide brim upwards can effectively narrow any hat's visual width.
What if my hat is a little big but the smaller size is too small. Is there a way to make my hat fit snugger?
You can use our foam size reducer hat tape at the "4 corners" (forehead, back of head, left ear, right ear) of your head which you can find at this "hat tape" link.
